The Income Generation Program empowers shelter residents to be self-sufficient by giving them job-readiness skills and payment for their work. We give women jobs creating garments such as school bags and uniforms, Karen clothing, scarves, etc, which are sold in local and international communities. Profits from this program provide a salary for shelter residents while funding 25% of our programs. Providing work opportunities for women has shown been shown to improve their mental health, which is why SAW is proud to sell handicrafts and sewn goods alongside produce and other materials grown on-site at our shelters.

 

Income generation goods can be purchased at SAW’s office, or via special order by contacting SAW directly. Please let us know the items you want, colors and quantity. SAW’s talented team can make a variety of products including but not limited to:
